Rexel Italy boosts its intralogistics performance with Generix WMS

Rexel is a global leader in multichannel distribution of products, services and solutions for the energy world. Context
Rexel Italy decided in 2021 to optimize the logistics of its warehouses in Brescia and Pomezia, which serve 19 sales outlets and customers throughout Italy, handle over 17,000 SKUs with significant heterogeneity in weight and volume, while the total order fulfillment amounts to about 150,000 lines per month. Rexel’s primary objective was to increase the level of service to customers and warehouse productivity through the digitalization of logistics processes. The decision shas been made to replace the legacy WMS with a more advanced and comprehensive WMS solution that could also manage some very specific processes of the sector—such as cable cutting—and integrate with the company’s ERP and the automatic conveyor system for weight control and package strapping.

Initial results
The project for the first warehouse in Brescia was completed in May 2023, and one year after the implementation of Generix WMS, the results observed by Rexel Italy show a significant increase in productivity: a notable reduction in overtime hours, greater reliability of stock data and goods traceability, and a reduction in the picking error rate by over 40% compared to the average values of the previous two years. Fewer mistakes and fewer urgencies immediately translate into higher quality of service provided to customers, which is a key competitive advantage of Rexel.
